C3 Podcast No. 17: Dr. Mark Lewis from Napro Research

In No. 17 of the Cannabis Commerce + Chemistry Podcast (Part 1), host Curt Robbins from Higher Learning LV and co-host John Bailey from the Mindset Genesis in Las Vegas are joined by guest Dr. Mark Lewis, President of Napro Research in Los Angeles. The group discusses Dr. Lewis' history in chemistry and what attracted him to work in the cannabis industry.

This is the first of a two-part episode, with each segment published separately. Part 2 is available as a bonus episode.

PhytoFacts from Napro Research

Lewis, Bailey, and Robbins discuss the details of the American marijuana testing space and how testing labs for more than ten years have been inflating THC percentage to encourage sales.

Dr. Lewis discusses PhytoFacts, a standard system for the interpretation and presentation of the data provided in the certificate of analysis (CoA) from a certified laboratory. This system, from Napro Research, has been adopted by SC Labs and others to better document and communicate the constituent elements, such as terpenes and cannabinoids, found within cannabis loose-leaf flower and concentrate products.

The cannabis genome produces 100+ cannabinoids, 150+ terpenes, and 20 flavonoids.

These phytomolecules interact with the human endocannabinoid system (ECS) to produce wellness.

But it gets complex. Biphasic response curves, biosynthetic pathways, and acidic precursors all commingle. Subscribe to learn how.
