Core Cannabis Course: CBDP

Updated: Mar 24, 2023

Welcome to homework assignment CCC 1.16 of the Core Cannabis Track from Higher Learning LV. This assignment teaches students about the recently discovered cannabinoid CBDP. This cannabinoid is a chemical cousin of CBD, but features some unique characteristics that make it worthy of our study and inclusion in the top 25 cannabinoids.

The discovery of this cannabinoid in 2019 revealed not only its presence, but also that of THCP and a new family of cannabinoids called phorals to which both of these cannabinoids belong.

What is CBDP?

Cannabidiphorol (CBDP) was discovered only as recently as December 2019 when a group of Italian researchers published a peer-reviewed research study entitled "A Novel Phytocannabinoid Isolated From Cannabis Sativa L. with Cannabimimetic Activity Higher Than Tetrahydrocannabinol: Tetrahydrocannabiphorol," in the journal Scientific Reports.

Did You Know?

The cannabis genome produces 100+ cannabinoids, 150+ terpenes, and 20 flavonoids.

These phytomolecules interact with the human endocannabinoid system (ECS) to produce wellness.

But it gets complex. Biphasic response curves, biosynthetic pathways, and acidic precursors all commingle. Subscribe to learn how.
