This Deep Dive explores the use of and potential positive outcomes of cannabis for insomnia and chronic pain based on the results of a 2020 peer-reviewed research study. This article is a living document that is updated regularly based on the release of new research on this topic.

Welcome to homework assignment CPS 1.11 in the Cannabis for Pain seminar from Higher Learning LV. This seminar provides a review of recently published peer-reviewed scientific research on the topic of the potential medicinal efficacy of cannabis for pain. This assignment in particular focuses on a study published in 2020 about the potential efficacy of cannabis for insomnia in patients suffering chronic pain.

A January 2020 research study entitled "Medical Cannabis & Insomnia in Older Adults with Chronic Pain: A Cross-sectional Study" that was published in the journal BMJ Supportive & Palliative Care explored the potential ability of cannabis to assist chronic pain patients who suffer insomnia.
